Ryan Nichols is a highly experienced aviation attorney and founder of JETREP. He represents and advises clients — including many of the world's wealthiest individuals and most successful public and private companies — on a very broad range of aviation transactions and related matters. Having played an instrumental role in hundreds of transactions with a cumulative value over five billion dollars, Ryan is distinctively qualified to assist clients with any aviation-related matter, regardless of complexity, size, and scope.

Ryan’s practice includes structuring, drafting, and negotiating aircraft purchase, sale, lease, and financing transaction documents, including letters of intent, aircraft purchase and sale agreements, fractional aircraft interest agreements, aircraft lease agreements, and aircraft financing agreements; devising aircraft ownership and operating structures in compliance with applicable regulations and with an eye toward achieving maximum tax efficiency; federal income tax planning, including advising on depreciation and personal use disallowance issues; state sales and use tax planning; advising on aircraft management arrangements; and advising on SEC disclosure issues related to personal use of company aircraft.

Prior to founding JETREP, Ryan was a principal attorney in the aircraft transactions practice group of a large law firm and previously was an attorney at a boutique law firm devoted to aircraft transactions.

Ryan holds a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Washington School of Law, a Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law, and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of Washington. He is admitted to practice in the State of Washington.
